I have always had a passion for photography. When I was blessed with 2 beautiful children, that passion grew into an obsession. But I don't really think of myself as being in the photography business. I am in the business of capturing emotions, spirits, phases of life - expressions. My clients tell me I have a unique talent in capturing those natural, little details in her subjects that we think we only see in our own mind's eyes. And I give my clients the ability to store these memories on a variety of mediums forever. While I love to capture your family's milestones, my passion and primery focus is creating art from those moments in time that you'll want to proudly display on your walls forever. I look forward to working with you!
What to expect:
I choose natural light in real surroundings, therefore most of my sessions are on location. The best times for natural light photoshoot are 2 hours before sunset or 2 hours after sunrise.
What to wear:
Clothing is very important in a photograph. I recommend wearing things that have texture to add depth and interest to the photo. My favorite way to achieve this is through layering. I absolutely love chunky sweaters, ruffles, buttons, scarves, hats, patterned/colored tights, funky boots, etc. Things don't even have to match! You can put together any colors and pieces you like. In fact, sometimes putting things together that don't "match" adds the most interest to a photo! I highly recommend taking advantage of the complimentary planning consultation before your shoot to talk about wardrobe among other things. These days with wardrobe, just about anything goes. But these are 2 things that I highly recommend AGAINST: wearing white and for everyone exactly matching. White does not appear naturally and is brighter than anything else in nature. The viewer's eye will always go directly to the lightest part of the image. Don't you want the first thing the viewer sees to be your faces and not your shirt/dress? For family sessions, pick 2 to 4 complimentary colors and then stick to that scheme as much as possible. Feel free to bring a couple of changes of clothing to your sessions. We can photograph as many clothing changes as you like for family sessions and older children. I don't usually recommend more than one clothing change ( 2 outfits ) for toddlers - most toddlers do not like getting dressed or changing clothes, and this can change the mood or end the session very quickly.
